EarthQuaker is dedicated to rethinking what it means to lead a truly modern life.
Its title suggests an answer – that we need to live with more awareness of how we’re collectively changing our planet, and that we can be helped in acting upon that awareness by the tradition of quiet reflection coupled with resolute action long embodied by the radical Religious Society of Friends, or Quakers. But that’s just a starting point.
At the moment EarthQuaker is one person’s blog. But it could be many other things. It certainly hopes to be a resource and a place where you’ll find thought-provoking ideas and stories. It also hopes to inspire dialog — whether directly in the comments area of the site, within our own minds or between fellow members of the communities, both real and virtual, in which we live.

I am glad that you exist!
Dear Earthquaker (great name, by the way).
Not everyone believes in the concept of a supreme being. But if one exists, I’d like to think that He/She would not want to see His/Her planet destroyed by the fossil fuel industry. So keep up the good work.
I just clicked on the WeBuyItGreen.com link shown in comment above:
It takes you to an Australian Gambling site. You might want to examine to see if it fits within your goals of information sharing?
Thanks, Barry – gambling is not something Friends support, so the link is gone!
